A Fave Handbag Inspires My Book Collection

Even though I write mostly in the home design space, I am always looking at any and all design that inspires me – no matter where it’s discovered. From walking around my neighborhood to enjoying a fantastic meal to a stylized outfit, color and patterns can be discovered everywhere. One way I love to find design inspiration is through my favorite handbag designer, Louis Vuitton. I am an avid fan, an every now and then {ebay} collector and lover of the brand identity.

I recently added a new book to my my at home collection that is all Louis but from an art and architecture point of view. Flipping through the pages full of LV designs (of course), there are also plenty of looks into the floorplans, buildings and style that goes into a Louis Vuitton store. From space planning to lighting, to displaying collections (hey, sounds like a small space dwellers home), we also get to hear from the people that designed the famous and gorgeous stores around the world and how they were inspired. It certainly gave me some ideas for my own home and ways to enjoy my space. What’s your favorite accessory and have you found a book that translates it into architecture?

You bring up some interesting ideas in this write up. I’ve been thinking on about this for a while so it was nice to discover this.
