Alright…progress has officially been made on the big-boy-room. Last weekend, we went from this:
It is difficult to adequately convey the correct blue that is on our walls…just know that is is a fairly good representation, but in real life, it is less navy and a bit more deep…if that makes any sense.
Anyway, with the walls painted, the bed purchased and plans to paint the dresser, I am finding myself focusing on storage bins and/or book shelves to go along the wall you see above. This option from Land of Nod has been on my back burners for a while…
I like this option, also from Land of Nod, as well…but part of me wants something a bit more…industrial looking to balance out the rest of the classic pieces in the space.
Something with texture and a unique finish would really stand out well in the room. This bin from Restoration Hardware Baby and Child definitely fits that bill.
And then there’s this AH-MAZE-ING, powder blue, metal media stand from Home Decorators Collection. But I worry about the sharp corners and my two year old.
Of course, it would also be nice for the piece to double as seating…perhaps an Ikea Hack is my best bet. Check out this beautiful storage bench hacked from an Ikea Lack shelf by Bonnee Sharp found over at Apartment Therapy, but originally featured in Better Homes and Gardens.
And I’m totally in love with the striped pillows topping this creative Ikea Lack hack found over at Mondo Cherry.
Or this beautiful Ikea Expedit hack that Sarah at Jack and Izzy made for her son’s big boy room.
Once again, there are sooooo many beautiful options to choose from.
