Happy Valentine’s Day, design lovers!! I’m feeling inspired by love and romance, whispered secrets of affection, gentle touches at the small of one’s backs, longing glances, leisurely mornings touching toes between the sheets…
…ahem…
…is it getting hot in here?
It must be from the decadent, romantic bedroom inspiration I have been finding lately…uh, that’s DESIGN inspiration, you. In every rich hue from deep red to bold yellow, lusty orange (yup, I said orange) to heady purple, these beautiful boudoirs are teeming with passion.
I won’t lie…this bedroom had me at herringbone flooring…but with the lavish red walls and deep purple sheers, I’m completely smitten.
Nothing sends tingles up my spine faster than the promise of a warm, cozy bed and this bed of textured neutrals paired with the bold orange wall is enough to send me over the edge.
With the paneled, vaulted ceiling; bright yellow walls; white trim and dark wood furnishings I can practically feel the sweltering Caribbean heat in this room in Oscar de la Renta's home in Punta Cana…yes, I know it is most likely air conditioned…but who's bedroom (decor) fantasy are we playing out here?
I never would have picked green for a romantic bedroom until this image showed me that the deeper and more decadent the pea-soup-green, the more delicious!
Who says blue has to be calming…this bedroom's tone on tone palette and stunning four poster bed really turn up the heat.
Sometimes it's what you don't say that says the most of all…with nothing competing against the boldness of that gorgeous plum wall, the bed becomes a soft resting spot for your eyes.
You can't get more romantic than this chocolate and gold decadence.
Turn out the lights! The black walls and furniture make it feel like here's nothing to see in this room but a swath of swirly white bed linens just waiting to be slumbered in.
