Carpet Query: Which Would You Choose?

When Gregory and I moved into our new apartment a few months ago, we brought along the faux bois-patterned carpet tiles from our former living room. However, after a while we decided that they just didn't look right in the new space with its palette of grey walls and yellow accents. (Fortunately they do go very well in our new woodland-y bedroom, so we just picked up them up and moved them.) Now the question is, what should we replace them with?

As I mentioned the other day, we ordered some FLOR samples, which have proven to be very useful for evaulating color, pattern, and texture (especially with the help of our little testers). In order to get a sense of what a full-size carpet might look like, we are also in the midst of Fun With Photoshop!

Above is an approximation of what the Making Waves – Sky tiles might look like. Check out some more possibilities after the jump and let me know which one you would choose. Or if you'd go for something entirely different!

Short Shag – Sunflower

Natural Born Talent – Wharfedale White

Feelin' Groovy – Lagoon

Metadoodle – Sassy Silver

What do you think?

I'd go with either the yellow to keep things cheery, or the navy to add contrast. It's also a little more traditional, which works with what I can see of the architectural details of the room. If you can swing it, maybe the yellow in the summer and the navy in winter. The silver is too close to the shade of your sofa, and the beige is…well. beige, and not very exciting. And new rugs should be exciting! (I recently put the raincloud faux bois in my living room, and love it)

I kind of like Natural Born talent – it makes your wood floors pop and the blue/yellows seem more vibrant.  I also like the Navy one.

I don't love any of the choices you have out there. What about that herringbone pattern floor tile. It'll be a good mix between lagoon and sunflower- and bring in a fun pattern.

Yellow – for sure!!  I'm having a similar poll going on over at my blog and would LOVE your advice, too. :)

I like the yellow, but I would choose a lighter shade of yellow. "Feelin' Groovy" or "Toy Poodle" in Polenta would still work nicely if you wanted to use brightly colored accessories or accent fabrics, that shade would also bring together the modern retro feel that (judging by your furniture selections) you seem to like. It will also give you more opportunities to change seasons, like maybe pull some goldenrod fabric and accessories for fall and winter.
I also think that you should check out something with plum, Flor's "Strike It Rich" in the "Bank" color combination would look fantastic in there. I could even see using yellow as an accent with it.

Hmm, Natural Born Talent – Wharfedale White is the only one that I like from your selection.  they all seem a bit conservative. I'd love to see a mix of two or three colors to spice up the place:-)
