The hardwood floors underneath my beautiful new FLOR carpet had become hazardously slippery to my sweet three-legged wonder pup, Celia.
Her travels through my home – from area rug in the living room to area rug in the master, for instance – forced her to cross ‘little oceans’ of hardwood floors, where she would often lose her balance and slip, causing pain and potential injury to her one back leg. I know this issue to be a concern for owners of older pets, as well, who see their animals’ balance grow unstable over time, and heartbreaking falls become more common.
I had tried non-slip booties for Celia – really, I had tried everything – as I honestly thought that deploying carpet would be a true sacrifice in style and cleanliness in my casa.
However, after visiting the FLOR Store in Dallas and working with Sean (FLOR’s design consultant at the store), I came away pleasantly surprised. I absolutely LOVE my FLOR carpeting – the gorgeous patterns designed (one for entry and master, another for living – and all flowing seamlessly, smartly together!), the quality of the line, the smooth install process.
FLOR warmed up the entry, living and master so much – in terms of both style and coziness. And the flexibility of changing out a tile should there be an accident of any kind (pet? wineglass? : ) is just fantastic.
Celia is SO happy, too. Literally, she stretches out and smiles.
Thanks loads to Sean for his TLC and the amazing design work he did for the new FLOR wool carpeting in my home! I absolutely love the finished product, and have received so many compliments!

We’re blown away by how creative our customers are. This is proof of how simple cuts and color can create such an original design. This is one of the more amazing cut rugs that we’ve seen and are thrilled that they shared it with us.
I realize that this isn’t exactly what you’re looking for in terms of the FLOR contest, but I couldn’t resist sharing my excitement. Here are two photos of our living room FLOR. We composed this rug out of Fez and Fedora tiles, cut into thirds and arranged to create a linear pattern. We’re incredibly happy with the results.

As editor-in-chief of LIFE+DOG Magazine and HoustonDogBlog, I get many reader requests for reviews of products that make life with your dog more functional and stylish and floor decor is one area that often leaves pup-parents scratching their heads.
Many months ago we set out on an adventure to find something perfect to place under our feet and were so excited to find FLOR. We placed our order and, in just a few days, we had a new rug to roll around on! Wanting to give the tiles a true test, we placed some in our office where the pups spend most of their day. It has been several months and the canine (and human) consensus is that these tiles are tops in dog-friendly design!
We were immediately drawn to your House Pet tiles, which are perfect for families and four-legged friends. The faux mohair look, whiskery like a wire-haired terrier, is highly durable, doesn’t show dirt and is easy to clean. This solution goes practically anywhere and obediently mixes with a whole litter of additional FLOR styles. In addition, should the need arise (which we pet lovers know it so-often-does), you can simply replace ruined tiles. Love that!
From rolling chairs and shedding spaniels, to tasty snacks and puppy paw tracks, our rug has handled all kinds of happenings and is no worse for the wear!
We are telling all of our friends in Houston about your new FLOR store that just opened in Houston’s posh West Ave Shopping Center. It was a great experience being able to see the products in person, gain some design inspiration and talk directly to a member of your design team – who helped us find the perfect fit for our two & four-legged family!
I’m an interior designer in Michigan. After working for larger firms for a few years, I opened up my own company Kelly Hansen Interiors in 2004. Shortly after opening my office I learned about FLOR. I always loved the inspiring pictures and I even requested a few samples but I was hesitant to recommend it for residential customers. I wasn’t exactly sure how the installations would go. Most of our customers are used to purchase wall-to-wall carpeting and having an installer put down their new carpet.
In 2009 I expanded my business and opened up a retail furnishing and flooring store in Downtown Howell called State Street Studios. During that time the modular carpeting industry was really picking up in our commercial work. I was hardly recommending any 12’ roll goods for commercial work anymore because the tiles had so many advantages – less waste, creating custom patterns, replacing worn areas, etc.
Finally, I just decided that all of the positive attributes of modular tile that my commercial customers were experiencing would translate well to my residential clients. FLOR was one of the only companies I found that had a lot of residential options—like plushes, textures and fun patterns.
I always like to try out products in my own home or office before recommending to clients so I decided to purchase some FLOR tiles for our Lake Michigan cottage renovation last summer.
First, I designed it on the FLORbuilder. It was a lot of fun. Even my 11 and 13 year old kids created patterns on the computer. Then, we ordered our FLOR. I ordered it over the phone and the customer service was great. My children actually laid the FLOR tiles in the cottage for me. It was a piece of cake. We ordered a few extra tiles for future use if necessary.

I liked it so much at the cottage that I ordered an additional area rug display for our retail store State Street Studios. This way we can show clients how easy it is to create a custom floor that’s easy to install and easy to maintain.

We look forward to many future projects with FLOR.
That’s my FLOR story! (Thanks for the opportunity to let me share it)

This was just too cute – we had to share it! This mom and dad created a colorful playroom for their little one by using FLOR’s Toy Poodle tiles. Here is their story…
My name is Sawyer.
This is my playroom.
I learned to crawl on FLOR.
I also love to roll on it.
It makes me feel groovy!
Thanks for making such a fun, affordable product.
