With the use of translucent fabrics, minimal structuring and some killer sewing skillz, modern artist Do Ho Su recreates facades and other architectural details of homes in which he has lived and worked. The pieces strike an interesting balance between realism and a playful study of space and architecture.
Su’s installations range the gamut from his childhood home in South Korea to artist residencies in Berlin and New York. I feel like I could stare at these structures and the light that they filter for hours and still not completely experience the installation.
I encourage you to visit his artist page at the Lehmann Maupin Gallery website to see some of his other work as it truly is inspirational.
