It's not often that I get excited about concrete, but these new Plus Plus pavers from Meld USA are pretty stylish, don't you think? Designed for patios, gardens, and driveways, the tiles prevent runoff and allow water to reach soil and plants. It seems like a great way to bring pattern and greenery to an outdoor space.
Plus Plus pavers are advertised as eco-friendly, so I contacted the company for more details and learned that they are comprised of up to 74% pre-consumer recycled content, including 100% recycled glass, cement, fibers, and integral pigments. This composite is manufactured in Raleigh, North Carolina, and all of the raw materials are sourced within 500 miles of the manufacturing location.
Although they come in six standard colors, Plus Plus pavers can also be poured in custom colors. There are lots of configuration possibilities, too, and I look forward to seeing some real-life examples after these go on sale in early 2011. Contact Meld USA for more information.
