Lately I have been so inspired by dark walls in small bathrooms.* A dark, matte-finish wall paired with crisp white cabinets, marble countertops and chrome fixtures exudes sexy and sophisticated all at once.
One way to successfully go dark in the bathroom is to incorporate natural elements to tone down the contrast like in this amazing bathroom transformation from Elsie Marley (click here to see the full before/after post):
See how the rattan basket and wood stool help to break up all of the black and white in this great bathroom by Emma Reddington of The Marion House Book. (Pictures by Kristin Sjaarda originally sourced from Design*Sponge)
Texture is another great way to modernize this trend even further. The black, grasscloth wall treatment in the bathroom below by Kerrie Kelly Design Lab is inspired and luxe.
Would you ever go dark in the bathroom?
*Ok…let’s be realistic…this first bathroom is actually bigger than my daughter’s nursery…still…stunning none-the-less
