Just Plain Nostalgic

In today’s times people are looking for comfort – something nostalgic, something that reminds them of, say, their grandmother sitting in her favorite red rocking chair knitting a blanket or a sweater.

FLOR’s new pattern – Just Plain Folk -  gives a nod to handmade craft, all while staying true to our modular concept and bringing the best of the old to life in that new and modern way you’ve come to know from us.

We took a traditional cable-knit textile pattern and by the nature of abstracting it and applying it to a tile in different rhythms, we wound up with a modern approach to a more traditional aesthetic.

In Lanyard, also recently released, your rug is livened up with rich dashes of color weaved throughout that neutral, comfortable cable-knit pattern. The small splashes of color also serve as a bridge to mixing in some solid color accent tiles.

There are many interpretations that these two products can take on. Here is an example of how one of our Houston Store design consultants brought Just Plain Folk and Lanyard together.

By the nature of how these products are stitched, they look almost like they’re cut with pinking sheers, with that abstracted feel of sowing, which brings us full circle back to that favorite quilt that keeps you warm on chilly nights and holds a special place in your heart.
