Lofty Ideas

I recently came across two very distinct lofted kids room inspiration photos and was equally struck by their personality and function even though they are so very different.

The first (above) is such a cheery, playful twist on the lofted experience.  I can easily imagine myself as a child marveling in a space that was shared and yet still afforded the luxury of privacy.

The lofted space below is no less magical, but with its muted color scheme (save for the grass-green floor) and minimalist layout, evokes a different type of childhood wonder.

Which would you prefer to grow up in?

Great use of colors and textures in both rooms. And the type of flooring makes it easy to clean and maintain. Very cool.

That first one would have been great growing up. Now it would have been much messier but I would have loved it.

Do I have to choose?…each addresses the needs of different times in any one of my given weeks. As far as growing up…I’m still working on that.
