Misty Blue and Deep Dark Red
When we first moved into our home, our master bedroom was painted deep, forest green. I knew I wanted something more soothing and less dark, so I went on a world wide search for the perfect misty blue. About a year later, having realized just how bright it was in our misty blue colored bedroom, we decided to look into room darkening curtains. Upon a trip to Bed Bath and Beyond, I spotted a beautiful, deep red curtain option and practically BEGGED my design-questioning husband to purchase them. ”Of course, they’ll look awesome with our misty blue walls. Trust me, misty blue and deep dark red are a great combination together.”
He believed me and we ended up with this.
Hmmm…not so great.
I’m still not 100% sure what went wrong (aside from the clutter), all I know is that my husband hated it and forever since has questioned me on my design ideas ever since.
BUT…BUT!!! I have been vindicated. One day I spotted this in a WestElm catalog:
Oh yeah, baby…that’s misty blue and deep dark red right there in a catalog looking miiiiighty fine if you ask me. I saved it should I ever get the stink-eye from hubs again over my design ideas and moved on with my life.
But, upon further review, I’ve found even MORE misty blue and deep dark red inspiration that is truly eye catching. Like these GOR-GEOUS red chairs at the Merchant House Bed and Breakfast in Hudson, NY (photo by Jamie of From Me to You).
Or how about this amazing bedroom in the home of designer, Olatz Schnabel.
