Swedish Simplicity

The home of Helen Hallgren provides a lovely wash of tranquility. The light filled space paired with the tonal palette of whites and grays create a peaceful ambiance and reduction of blood pressure for those within. This isn’t created with paint alone. The ‘white’ metals, painted wood, concrete and textiles work symphonically, to offer the balance and material contrast that we experience in this space. In the bedroom, the ‘nubby’ texture of the linen paired with the woven throw and woven basket, create wonderful visual interest, while respecting the neutral palette. Absolutely lovely. In the kitchen, the metal chairs, candlesticks and hardware are just enough to add definition, without a strong color gesture. Dreamy.

Lovely descriptions of a beautiful place. I also love the white, shades of white and wood tones aesthetic. If anyone likes more of that from around the world and Europe, another good source is the Style File.
