Symmetry Rules

Ok, friends, here’s the secret to a completely comfortable space. It’s not always design, color, decor, furniture – it’s the balance, harmony and symmetry of a space. Yes! Think about your home in terms of how it feels. Does your space have good energy? Does it feel “ok”? One of my favorite ways to achieve this is symmetry. Here are a few of my favorite tips for creating a symmetrical and comfy room.

1) Keep it simple and buy in pairs or groups. Of course, 2 items or 4 things make sense but for many of us, we don’t always think that way. Consider buying decor in groups.

2) Color and material matter. Definitely get the same exact color and material of your pair or group of items. I love the copper lights in the kitchen above. (I mean, gorgeous, right?)  My creating a symmetrical lighting experience, the entire room feels balanced and pulled together. And comfortable.

3) Go big! The fantastic living room in the first photo is completely symmetrical and balanced – and it works. Consider creating a full symmetrical experience in one of your spaces to get complete harmony. Add artwork, lights or flowers/plants to showcase more of your edge.

Fantastic design, great layout, rich colors, materials and more make the design experience in your home shine. And all of it adds to your style and personality. And remember it’s your home, your space so have fun and design a space you love.

Hi.. I also have one good idea and the idea is to add a mirror to make the room appear larger or overhaul the entire room with a remodeling project and new furniture. One more suggestion adds a wall of windows to shed light on family dinners or install low-hanging chandeliers for delicate ambiance. With these changes one can definitely breathe new life into your dining room with simple decor changes.
