It seems everywhere I turn lately, there is a buzz about Belguim. Great design is everywhere, from food to and fashion, to boutique hotels. One unique destination is the Main Street Hotel. Petite only in scale, the environment is dramatic and quirky. Bold gestures of pattern and color paired with thematic design concepts for each of the rooms, creates an undeniable mood and culture. Great fun. It seems a place to bring friends, or make I would venture to guess, make some new ones.
“The bar is a relaxing area to read a book or magazine, Play a game or do some handicraft, Enjoy a selection of high quality beverages, small food or afternoon cakes. For warm days, a colourful terrace-garden is waiting for you.” Perfect.

Hotel Topazz, designed by BWM Architekten und Partner in Vienna, Austria is a gorgeous boutique hotel. ‘Located in the historic 1st district, Hotel Topazz combines landmark architecture with a holistic, resource-saving philosophy that starts with low-energy usage and carries through to locally-sourced food and the use of green building materials.’ Both the sleek, dark exterior facade and the glamorous tonal palette in the interior spaces are dramatic and sculptural. Paired with a sense of whimsy in the details, the space is elegant yet comfortable. Did you spot the ducks feet, and oh-so-lovely window seat? A wonderful place to relax and gaze out onto these historic streets. The uniquely elliptical windows are a gift of connection to this special city, experienced both inside and out.
The marble walled bathroom is elegant and just perfect in my eyes. The combination of dark wood, and white metal with the visual activity in the veining of the marble walls and floors are beautifully balanced. I’d love to visit!
