Many of us feel that we compromise the quality of light, as well as the overall visual effect of our lighting elements. Meet Plumen, the worlds first designer energy saving light bulb.
Designed by Samuel Wilkinson, Plumen uses 80% less energy than the traditional incandescent light bulb, reducing energy costs, and reducing the impact on the environment. It lasts 8 times longer than a traditional incandescent bulb.
The name of the new bulb comes from “plume”, which is a birds show feather, designed to attract attention to their beauty. I do think these lumens are worthy of their name. Certainly an interesting alternative to the typical fare. When you think about it, the glass rods of a compact fluorescent fixture can be created in any form. So, why are there only three on the market? Plumen is a welcome beacon. “The Plumen light bulb screws into any standard bulb fitting, gives off a warm white light and will work either shaded or even better, completely naked”. Plumen
Until recently, Plumen could only be purchased in Europe in 220V. Now, these bulbs can be purchased for use in the United States in a 120V version as well. Checkout the Plumen website for ordering details. http://www.plumenshopus.com
