… go overboard with your bedroom’s light fixture?
The bedroom is the perfect place to experiment with statement lighting, as it’s often a pretty minimalist space. After all, who needs more than a bed and a pair of nightstands in their place of slumber?
Dress up your average bedroom by adding a gigantic, unique light fixture centered over the bed. The room will feel less like a utilitarian space and more like a glamorous nighttime retreat – perfect for catching your much-needed beauty rest every night.

Neon decor and bright, bold accents are all the rage today, yes? But little makes those vibrant hues pop more than when paired with natural wood. Take these neon table legs, for instance:

The perfect blend of classic materials and trendy shades, neon table legs are today’s answer to livable and modern pieces that will stand the test of time.
Tell me, would you try this trend in your own home? Or are you still a bit neon-shy?

Ok, I’ll admit it. I am a Louis Vuitton design lover. For many years, I have been searching for and discovering the amazing handbags, store interiors and my all time fave item – the Louis Vuitton steamer trunk. While I personally have a super small Louis Vuitton collection (a bag here and a bag there – thank you, eBay), I certainly covet and dream about that steamer trunk.
I love the style, the elegance and the philosophy of the brand – all things that continue to guide my dream decor love for Louis. In some ways, this has led me to discover other decor and furniture in similar styles, colors or textures and opened up my eyes to new things.
And I also discovered that enjoying pictures of my pretty dream decor is perfectly fine – especially when the above dream decor has a price tag of, oh, $25,000.

… go completely crazy with the paper lanterns? Sure, you’ve seen a cluster or two in the corner of a nursery, or perhaps a few appeared in the latest birthday part you attended, but have you ever seen so many in one place?
I love how the look is playful, yet surprisingly sophisticated when combined with neutral decor and layered, natural elements. What do you think, friends? Would you give it a go?
Natural Selection Studio (NSS) is the brainchild of Michigan-based Greg Gallegos and features some of the most gorgeous, handmade wood creations seen by the human eye. Naturally, we wanted to give well-deserved props for the quality and creativity displayed in one of our favorite new Etsy shops! Here are a few finds to invest in:
Sycamore pods ($42) are thin, lightweight and are begging to house paperclips, rubber bands and other miscellaneous supplies we all too often fail to stylishly contain.
Color and wood were made for each other, so these blue and orange wooden bowls ($74) are begging to be displayed either as a pair or statement-making solo for a surprising treat.
If sculptural is more your style, these wooden goblets ($64) are as inspiring as they are functional. I’d love to see mixed nuts displayed in these beauties at my next dinner party!
Lastly, if you’re into marbled wood, this set of three vessels turned from Box Elder wood have your name on it. What a lovely centerpiece they’d make!
Hats off, Greg – you have us all drooling with wooden envy!
