Veranda Magazine published this designer home over the summer, designed by Windsor Smith in collaboration with several well known L.A. guest designers. Created as a showhouse to raise money for charity, each designer decorated an area of the home. Even with multiple designers onboard, the home hangs together as one cohesive project. I held on to the images, as I found it to be fresh and stylized, and at the same time absolutely timeless. Details such as moulding and custom woodwork bring a level of sophistication to the space. Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin reportedly purchased the home post show when it went on the market. An 8,000 s.f. estatewith 6 bedrooms and 8 baths, is somehow modest in feel due the the scale, furniture and finish choices. An abundance of light fills the whitewashed rooms, creating a warming glow. I am taken by the down to earth quality of the home. Doesn’t it feel comfortable? Like you might pull up a chair and gather in the kitchen for coffee. Now wouldn’t that be a treat?
