… start a collection?
I clearly have collections on the brain, as I just wrote about displaying them a few weeks ago. But what if you don’t yet have a collection? Might I suggest one of my favorites?
Camilla recently shared this beautiful tea tin collection on her site, and now? Well, I don’t have to explain to you that I’ve had “vintage tea tins” saved as an eBay search every since.
There’s something so wonderfully calming about tea time, and I’ve always felt that tea is a highly underestimated product. The brewing and steeping and tasting is highly therapeutic, and I sometimes mourn that more tea houses don’t exist as an alternative to the bustling market of coffee shops.
The icing on the cake, of course, is that tea tins are functional and beautiful. Not only do they boast interesting typography, stunning illustrations and vintage-inspired imagery, but they’re the perfect hiding spot for stashing odds and ends that find themselves in the most-used room of the home – the kitchen.
Why not clear out your kitchen’s junk drawer and start organizing those rubber bands, batteries and receipts in tea tins? I’m almost certain you’ll feel calmer and more inspired in a flash.
