FLOR Summer 2010 Perspective

In the midst of today's challenging and complicated times we find optimism- a compassionate shift in how we relate to one another and our world. We recognize we are part of something larger than ourselves: a fragile web that connects all living systems on this small planet. This presents a monumental responsibility to define and design our lives in ways that favorably impact our world. It is design that drills past the superficial to consider the social economic, and environment effects of every choice.

As we look forward in 2010, we see these important themes influencing the aesthetic landscape. There are surprising trends in color. And movements in design thinking that reemphasize home, personal connection and genuine linkage to the many icons of our collective cultural heritage.
