Dani Dazey
I’m an interior print and fashion designer, and I’ve had a wild career that spans from the fashion world and now into interiors, but one thing has remained the same and that’s my love of print and color.
I started off working in the fashion industry doing apparel graphics, so very art and print oriented and really got a feel for color and print mixing and fell in love with it. I worked in the fashion industry for many years before starting my own clothing line, and that was really where I embraced bold color and bold design.
I am a big believer in being yourself to the max, embracing your personality, and being very unapologetic about it. I love bold colors and lots of prints and being a little loud, and that's just who I am as a person. And I think by being brave enough to step into who I really am, I have been able to influence other people, not only to be a little more brave and bold with how they decorate their space, but just how they step into everyday life.
There's so much more to interiors and even clothes than just looking pretty. It can be empowering. Design can bring joy to your life and to others, too.
What's so fun about designing other people's spaces is really bringing them out of their shell. It can be a little intimidating to bring a lot of color and print into a space, so I really like to walk them through it, and it's a very personal process. My philosophy is all about self-expression and filling your space with things that you love. So a lot of the process of working with other people is figuring out what it is that they love and how they want that to be reflected to the outside world.
Your space can be a reflection of your personality and who you are. The second somebody walks into your home, they get to know who you are. I think that's so cool. So I really try to learn a lot about my client and build spaces that celebrate who they are.
