Portrait of Jenny Murphy

I developed a love for manipulating space at a young age. I started J. Reiko Design + Co. based on my belief that home is more than a place—it’s a feeling. We believe good design supports not only how you live today but also who you are becoming. We design with purpose, balancing beauty and function to create spaces that reflect what our clients value most.

Every space has a story—and so does every client. Our job is to listen deeply to both. We take the time to understand the rhythms of daily life, personal values, and the emotional tone our clients wish to cultivate in their homes. From there, we layer in materials, textures, colors, and architectural elements that honor the soul of the space and the people within it. Authenticity guides every decision.

Designing for others is an act of translation—we get to take someone’s story, energy, and aspirations and turn them into something tangible and livable. It’s deeply personal work that we never take for granted. Designing our own spaces is a chance to experiment and reflect our values with total freedom. It’s where we test ideas, play with composition, and continually refine what it means to live well.

FLOR rugs offer the perfect combination of form, function, and flexibility. Modular tiles allow us to create custom looks tailored to each project, while also offering practical benefits like durability and easy maintenance. This is especially important for families with children or pets constantly moving in high-traffic areas. Additionally, FLOR’s designs are versatile enough to blend seamlessly into our aesthetic, whether we’re creating a grounded, earthy space or something more refined and structured.

FLOR’s sustainable, low-VOC materials support personal and environmental wellness, aligning with our commitment to health and harmony in the home. Plus, the wide range of patterns, colors, and textures help us tell meaningful stories through design. Each product is part of a larger movement toward conscious living—something we’re passionate about encouraging through our work. Whether we’re designing a serene retreat or a lively family room, FLOR provides the flexibility to achieve just the right visual and functional balance.

The Iris spec home was designed to feel calm, intentional, and connected—an invitation to slow down and experience each space with presence. The aesthetic is rooted in Japandi, a blend of Scandinavian functionality and Japanese minimalism focused on natural materials, simplicity, and quiet elegance. In the primary bedroom, we selected Roadside Attraction in Haze, which brought softness and structure without overpowering the space, allowing the sweeping views of the Flatiron Mountains just beyond the windows to take center stage.

Design is indicative of time, and that’s why I believe that what’s timeless isn’t found in trends but in what feels true to you and honors the space. Design is always a reflection of its time. That’s why we encourage our clients not to chase trends but to dig deep and find what resonates with their soul—then layer that over the architectural integrity of their home.
